GIANNITSA

Giannitsa is a city in Macedonia and the largest in the Pella Regional Unit with 30,498 inhabitants. It was one of the first cities to create a 3000-seat Open Theater and made cultural events an institution as big names in theater and music are hosted every year, giving the days of culture a festival character. The theater is located inside the Philippion, which is the most beautiful and largest park of the city.
The center of the city's social life is undoubtedly located on the pedestrian street of Giannitsa. Here and in the side streets, the city lives every day at an intense pace, as it gathers the main volume of visitors and those who generally wish to have lunch, dinner or simply enjoy their coffee or drink.
Giannitsa is a rural area par excellence. The famous "Swamp" of Giannitsa has given many advantages to the economy of the wider region and contributed to the retention of the new population. The area is also distinguished for its rapid development. Today there are 550 enterprises of which 10 are Industries and the rest are crafts and commercial shops.
